Will this void my warranty?
Absolutely not. Our tuning chip will not void any warranties. If you have a very strict underwriter on your warranty you can simply unplug the unit before taking your vehicle in for service with no traces and install it later.
Will this work with aftermarket performance upgrades?
Yes, It will work with all aftermarket upgrades as well as factory upgrades.
Will I get any errors on my dash board after installing this tuning chip?
Our tuning chip will not cause any dashboard errors or warnings.
Do I need any special skills or tools?
No special skills are required. Just plug into your OBD2 port and follow simple instructions included.
Will this module fit my 4cyl, 6cyl, 8cyl?
The Thorton Performance Chip will fit all engine sizes and types for your make of vehicle. Be sure to select the correct Make, model and engine of your vehicle when purchasing.
I have an 08 Subaru Legacy limited. I was just wanting a better throttle response and was hopeful for some boost in hp and maybe saving some mpg… Well this chips definitely did NOT disappoint! The throttle response and all around more ‘crisp’ driving experience was pretty much right away after install… but definitely noticeable within the first 10 miles…. After day 2 and my normal drive from my house to my work which is around 38 miles and I can definitely tell the difference in gas mpg . That round t trip would normally take around a half tank! And now I’m at around a quarter tank round trip.! It cruises at 70mph on the freeway without any thought and when I need to pass, it’s a lot easier than it had been previously..
I would recommend to anyone no matter what you’re driving, if you was t to improve just the overall feel of your drive ,l would for sure recommend the stage 3 chip!
I recently installed the stage one chip in my 2008 Impreza and I’m really impressed with the performance and mpg gain I now get 27 mpg around town
I can`t believe Subaru does not already use this chip. The difference is amazing. My 4 cyl non turbo outback runs very very good. I bought my outback about one and a half years .ago 06/24 It had 3 miles on it . I took my time breaking it in so I could feel the performance improve . I did a trip to Seattle from Vegas and a couple trips to Yuma. When I put that Thorton Chip into my outback I was amained how much better it ran. Buy one you can thank me later
